Garden Route Events

The Longmore Classic was established in 1996 as an annual mountain bike race set in the Longmore Forest plantation just outside Port Elizabeth.

The Dr Evil Experience is designed for both fun-loving riders and serious athletes. This three-day stage race keeps distances under 70km per day, offering a mix of exciting, scenic, and rewarding routes crafted by Leon Evans. Now in its 13th year, the event has become a must-do for mountain bikers looking for an unforgettable ride through the stunning landscapes of Plettenberg Bay and the Garden Route.
Takes place 11-13 December 2025.

The LoFER is a series of endurance ultra runs that take runners through breathtaking wilderness, designed to introduce (and challenge) athletes in the world of ultra running. With routes primarily on forestry roads, jeep tracks, and scenic single-track trails, the race offers a balance of runnable terrain and epic adventure. Distances range from the shorter 7km and 18km routes to the formidable 200-mile challenge, with all major distances conquering the stunning Blouberg peak (810m), while the 100- and 200-mile runners take on Elandsberg, the highest point at 1000m.
Takes place from 17-21 December 2025.

The trail runs and MTB routes will take you through breathtaking sections of indigenous forest, cool river crossings, mountain peaks with sweeping views and something for all levels of athletes.
Participants will start and finish at the same location but will head off on their desired routes following colour-coded ribbons.
Takes place 27-30 December.

Expect to find yourself winding your way through many cattle farms, all of which give the M&G PE PLETT exclusive access to ride through once a year. The first two water points will arrive around the halfway mark, ensure you stock up as you take on the longest day of 4.
Once arriving at Assegaaibosch, our home for just one night, you can expect a vibrant chill zone, a large pool, live music and plenty of places to relax and recover. You have made it through the biggest day of the M&G PE PLETT, it’s not all downhill from here, but you can certainly rest easy knowing the hardest is behind you.
